New start for me...
I have just begun a new part of my life. I have started a course to train as a teaching assistant at a local school and I am loving it! I applied for the course in Feb, and got a placement straight away but it has taken until May for the college to get things sorted and me in the school! So I started last week, three days a week Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9.00am to 3.20pm.
This is a change in direction for me as most of you know I make and decorate cakes. I have done a lot of voluntary work over the last few years in museums and libraries, taking craft sessions and other groups where I really enjoyed helping children learn.
What finally made me look into a course was my back. I have a bad back and cake decorating was isincreasingly more a strain physically, although I will still do them part time and the school full time if I am lucky enough to get a job soon!
The course will take around 6 months and I can't wait to see what is in store for me! Yesterday we were practicing for 'sports day', Egg and spoon race, sack race and many others which I remember from my childhood. I am also making the fimo creations which are keeping me busy! So that is why I have been a bit absent lately.
I will still blog though and thank you to all my readers who have followed me this far and here's to more years and new beginnings!
Talk soon everyone

That's so wonderful! Congratulations! xo
Good luck with your new beginning !! I hope you can start at a school after your course. Working with children is realy nice work. I still hope we get to see more beautiful decoration cakes if you make them !!
Congrats on finding a new job as teaching assistant! I'm sure it will be very rewarding! However, please don't give up cake decorating altogether cos you are so good at it and i will miss admiring all your cake creations! Take Carea & all the best!
Hi there! So nice to meet you! You left some kind words on my blog and asked a question too.
I have to say for the most part, I have ample storage for everyday things. We have a coat closet as we come in from the garage for coats, and even boots, hats mittens etc go there. Regular clothing are in closets and dressers. I do take my alarm clock off the night stand when I take pics in there but with just hubby and I at home now, there is actually a space for everything. And Lili has a toy cabinet in the kitchen and living room and the rest is downstatis that you don't see usually on my blog. So I guess the real answer is ample storage!!
I wish you the best in your course and I hope that you find the perfect position after. Working with children is one of the hardest but most rewarding things I have done in my life. I hope it is as rewarding for you!!
Hugs, Linda
How appropriate in mid-June to be practising for the egg and spoon race! I wish you every success with your new venture and hope that you enjoy every minute of your course.
