The Show Must Go On...............
What a week! I don't think I have mentioned before that I am a part of a local Amateur Dramatic Society? Well, This October our group is putting on my favourite Play and Movie 'Arsenic and Old Lace'. I had not been cast in this play, instead I have been helping backstage with the various props and lighting etc, (shopping trips to buy props was an extra bonus)!
'If I would take on the role as the 'Police man'? as he has left due to stress! I am now currently learning my lines as fast as I can and I am pleased to say I almost know all of them! Just shows what you can do if you have too!
I am still wearing the mans 'Cop' jacket that the costume lady has 'nipped' in for me, a hat, but I will wear a skirt and tights and not pants ........with it been set in the 1930s. I get to carry a batton! if anyone knows this this play it is a true gem, it is a funny and charming story. I never guessed I would be in the play especially as a 5'2 in height Cop! I have a full dress rehearsal tomorrow night then again on Thursday, what a week...............one minute I am arranging my Halloween decor and planning my autumn reading the next Its all systems go.......

See you soon,

Hi Priscilla, being in the play sounds like such fun. We have a dinner theater here and they have presented Arsenic and Old Lace twice.... and I loved it. All the best and as they say here "break a leg"----meaning good luck.I don't know where this expression comes from or if you've ever heard it,but it's a good thing.
Hugs, Linda
hello!
What a lovely and fun blog you have! I am a fan of old movies and have to admit that I just adore Arsenic and Old Lace, it's one of my favorites along with Roman Holiday and Breakfast at Tiffany's.
Congratulations on your blog award, and the very best of luck on your production!

Dear Priscilla, Thanks so much...you are kind! You made me smile when I saw that you had nominated me!!! I too am enjoying getting to know you through blog-land! Dianntha

My FAVORITE line in that story is when Carey Grant says "Does insanity run in my family?....why it practically GALLOPS" LOL
Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your sweet words! I've enjoyed yours and would like to add you to my blog roll if that's OK.
Blessings,
Robin
Congrats on your award. Arsenic and Old Lace is such a super film, love Cary Grant well who doesn't? Hope the production goes well, I know that backstage can be even harder work than the acting so best of luck.
I'm finally getting to reply to your sweet comment in one of my blogs! I'm so sorry for being so late in doing this. -sigh-
So glad you commented in my Photos-City-Mine blog. And thus, I found your lovely Cottage blog. I simply love cottages!!! Oh sigh, oh my, yes! :-)
Re: your comment... Oh I know you have simply beautiful homes in the UK. The houses I've been picturing, in my city, have nothing on yours. And of course, I've chosen to photograph the big, old ones. Not all houses are such, here!!! Ours certainly is not!!!
But I love the heritage of Victorian architecture we have, in this city. And I made this blog, for the specific purpose of keeping a record of it.
My today's entry is a new one, and it's just not as lovely as the old ones. -sigh- But, it's part of the surroundings so... I put it in. But I want to get back to the really old homes, and to those things which are lovely in that they have stood the test of time.
Thank you again for commenting. I hope you'll have the time to peek in on my other blogs too. I know, 4 is 'too much.' But I won't make any more. -giggles-
